About B & B Autorecyclers
Our history began when Robert (Bob) S. Kolar founded
B & B Auto Parts & Salvage, Inc., in March of 1959. At that time, not only was B & B a salvage yard, but also
operated a wrecker service and a repair garage. It was a one-man operation working out of a small tin building. The salvage
yard handled any and all kinds of vehicles and operated on ten acres of land.
In 1968, B & B acquired another ten acres and increased its storage capacity to 20 acres. In 1973, the first building
was constructed; a 40X80, and dismantling and stocking of parts began. In 1975, Bob's two sons officially joined the business
and B & B incorporated. At this time, B & B began specializing in Ford and GM automobiles. Five full-time employees
were working.
In 1980, a 15,000-sq. ft. warehouse was built for storage and all cars were being totally dismantled, inventoried and stocked.
The total operation was condensed down to three acres. In 1982, a 40 X 80 self-service sales area was created to accommodate
retail sales. In 1984, all inventories were loaded into AutoInfo computer with interchange using Mitchell and Hollander.
Later, another storage was built to house up to 400 units (cars).
In 1993, Bob Kolar retired and sold the business to his second son, Bobby Kolar. Bobby has since taken the business to a
new high, in sales, personnel and technology. The last three years has seen B & B dismantle over 520 vehicles per year,
the most ever. Our computer and phone systems have recently been updated to better serve you. If we are out of a part, our
sales associates have the capability to locate the part you need using the Orion Network, which searches yards across the
country. As of October 1999, B&B now has 3 expert sales associates, 2 professional delivery drivers, 3 dismantling
engineers, an inventory and shipping specialist, a general manager, 2 accounting/clerical associates and Bobby doing the
inventory buying. We have completely remodeled our showroom and have given B&B a new facelift to the front of our
facility. Salvage yards have historically been stereotyped as "Junkyards". Not so at B&B. So, call, come by or mark
this page as a favorite and let us show you what a "World Class Auto Recycling Center" is all about.
